It's better than Twilight in a way that it's way raunchier, funnier, more suspenseful, has actors with better acting and a better plot.Not for prudes. The Season kicks off with a handjob in a driving van.
Look beyond all the smoke, sex and fang-banging(having sex with a vampire), it's a great show worth watching.
